About Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA):
On April 2nd, 2002, Hyundai Motor Company, Korea's largest automotive manufacturer, announced it would construct a $1 billion automotive assembly and manufacturing plant in Montgomery, Ala. On April 12th, 2002, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC (HMMA) was incorporated. For Hyundai, HMMA in Montgomery would be the most advanced assembly plant in North America and the first in the United States.
HMMA currently employs more than 2800 employees who are building Hyundai's next generation Sonata sedan and the all new Santa Fe sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the Hyundai Alabama plant.
“This new manufacturing facility reaffirms Hyundai' commitment toward investing in the U.S. economy, as well as its commitment toward U.S. consumers,” said Chairman Chung. “American consumers have recognized Hyundai's quality, and this plant will enable us to better serve them.”
The 2-million square-foot automotive assembly plant resides on 1,744 acres of land and includes a stamping facility, paint shop, vehicle assembly shop, a two-mile test track and an engine shop, where the all-new Hyundai 3.3-liter V6 engine is produced. In May 2005, the facility marked the official start of production with its first saleable 2006 Sonata. HMMA will produce 300,000 vehicles per year at full capacity.

In November of 2005, Integrated Transport, LLC signed a transportation service contract with Panalpina, Inc. to assist in servicing their Hyundai 1st Tier supplier customer base in Montgomery, AL. Initially, selected units will be dedicated to Panalpina with growth opportunities scheduled throughout 2006 and early 2007. Integrated Transport, LLC, through Panalpina, has been awarded the Glovis ECC building inbound shipments to HMMA for 20 + JIS parts. The 3 year agreement is set to kick off in April 2006 through March 2009. Integrated Transport will be providing multiple dedicated drivers covering both HMMA production shifts.
